Haiku of the Week

Haiku of the week

Mantimoon Haiku of the Week captures the joy of the present moment, offers time for gentle reflection and provides a little mental boost when you need it most.

This week’s Haiku of the week is inspired by the beautiful Starling. May is the time of year that Starlings fledge the nest and remembering this got me thinking. Starlings are now a red listed species as their numbers are declining dramatically.

I wanted to capture the joy I felt at knowing this process of little ones leaving the nest is occurring but also highlight how sad I am that such a wonderful bird is an endangered species. I’ve decided that next year I’m going to try and build some nestboxes and have found this handy guide from the RSPB to help me. I’ll let you know how I get on!
